For you that do not know what Amazon Associates is, it is Amazon’s Affiliate Program. You can sign up/apply for their program and promote Amazon’s products on your website/blog and make commissions whenever someone is purchasing from your affiliate link.
Amazon is one of the affiliate programs that offers the lowest commissions, but the selection of products to promote is huge. Furthermore, I do not think there is anyone who does not know about Amazon nowadays, and that their online shopping platform is a safe place to purchase from. To mention their Prime Membership, which offers 2 day free shipping to members, and a lot of other perks like video and music.
I have been an Amazon affiliate for a bit more than a year now and I want to share with you what method is working best for me. It may be depending on your theme for your blog/website what method is working best, but after trying all of them during this year, I definitely see an increase in sales and commissions when using
Amazon Search Ads.
When you are including the search ad code snippet on your site like the example below (manual on how to get this code further down), a small Amazon Shop will appear where customers can search for whatever item they are looking for directly from your site.
When you are using this method – instead of just linking to one particular item at a time – I have noticed that my website visitors are more likely to end up purchasing from my website. Even that they do not purchase exactly what I advertise in my Search Ads, it does not matter, since they came in on my affiliate link.
How To Set Up Amazon Search Ads Manual
To set up Amazon Search Ads is very simple and you do not have to be a web developer or web designer to manage this. I will go through each step using screenshots, and if you are still experiencing problems setting it up, you are welcome to contact me any time. You can find my contact information at the end of this page.
For this manual, I count on that you already have an Amazon Associates Account and know how to login to it.
» Step 1. While logged in, you go to Product Linking.
» Step 2. Place the arrow over Product Linking and a drop down menu will appear. Choose Native Shopping Ads.
» Step 3. Choose the option Search Ads.
» Step 4. This window will open up below the link title: Search Ads’. You then click on the Create Search Ads option.
» Step 5. Here you can choose what products you to display in your Search Ad. Just type in a search phrase, such as “Kitchen And Dining” that I use below and then click enter. A preview of your ad will appear.
You can also change the default title: “Shop Related Products”, to what you prefer. Like you see in the screenshot below, I changed the title to: “Shop For Kitchen And Dining Items”.
» Step 6. Now you go back to your website (blog post/article or widget) where you want your Search Ad to display. Make sure you paste in the code snippet using the “text” option. Just place the marker where you want the ad to appear and press paste.
After pasting the code snippet, you update your page, and wholaaa… your ad will appear on your site.
As simple as that!
I hope this manual was helpful.
Now, make sure to attract traffic to your site with publishing interesting content and watch the commissions role in.
I hate to break it to you, but it is not quite as simple as it sounds… It takes lots of effort and a good while to monetize a blog/website, and to get the traffic needed to start making serious monkey with affiliate marketing, and especially Amazon Associates, but you definitely WILL – if you take action and are persistent.
Best of luck to you all!
